We had the pleasure to interview actress Bianca Allaine Barnett. Check out the interview below!
Dear Bianca, thank you for accepting our interview.
You’re quite welcome! Thank you for having me.
How did you get involved in acting?
I transitioned into acting from modeling. After I moved to Los Angeles, I started working on student films, doing background work for major television shows(According to Jim), and even some audience work for game shows and courtroom shows(Judge Judy and Judge Joe Brown). It really allowed me to understand how the technical side of the production worked.
From where did you start acting?
Well, my first big break was working with cult film maker, Ramzi Abed, in his film, The Devil’s Muse. I then worked with him again on In a Spiral State. I landed Albino Farm from have experience wearing prosthetic makeup appliances. (I had worn extensive appliances in the film Canes, but the scene I am in is barely shown in the film.) After Albino Farm, I was able to join the Screen Actors Guild, which is really important to serious actors.
Did you perform in any horror movies? Which ones?
Yes! Most of my resume is of horror films – Albino Farm, My Sucky Teen Romance, The Evil Inside, The Toy Box- those are just a few. As much as I love horror films, I would like to branch out and try new genres.
Are you working on any current projects?
Yes, I have two major feature length films in pre-production, but I am contractually bound to keep my mouth shut.
Which was your favorite character that you performed?
Playing Charlotte in my husband’s kinky short horror film, M is for Marriage, was a lot of fun. Anything that lets me play dress up or get into costume makes me happy. It is all about being in the moment and playing make believe.
What was your biggest achievement in the field of acting?
I haven’t had it yet, but having Albino Farm play on Showtime was really great. Also, winning the Golden Cobb Award for Best Rising B Actress was awesome.
What kind of roles do you prefer?
I prefer darker characters that have more to them than meets the eye. I like expressing the complexity of being human. I also like films set in a different time period because the costuming is interesting.
Which is your favorite film?
If I had to choose only one, it would be American Beauty.
Who is your favorite actor?
I love Nicole Kidman, Zach Galifianakis and Joaquin Phoenix.
