The legend of forgotten horror filmmaker Karl Atticus will finally be explored in depth at the London premiere of Mortal Remains, an award-winning feature film to be presented at the Phoenix Cinema in East Finchley, London on April 14,2014:
Mortal Remains is a “docu-thriller” which delves into the shadowy story of Karl Atticus, a notorious U.S. filmmaker who has been mysteriously eradicated from cinematic history for reasons unknown. Interviews with film historians and aficionados – among them Eduardo Sanchez, co-director of The Blair Witch Project – reveal that the true story of Atticus’ past may have been far more sinister than the shadowy legacy he left behind.
Produced by filmmakers Christian Stavrakis and Mark Ricche, the film has screened at several American festivals including the Spooky Movie Film Festival hosted by the American Film Institute; the Terror Film Festival in Philadelphia, where it was nominated for five awards and won two (Audience Favorite and Best Editing); and HorrorQuest Film Fest in Atlanta, where it won for Best Directing.
